About Us

Who Are We?

We are a congregation of imperfect people “called out” from the world who have been “born again of water and spirit” and now follow Jesus Christ and the teachings of His apostles as revealed by the Holy Spirit in the Scriptures!  We have no denominational affiliations.  Jesus Christ is the head of all things pertaining to the church, which is His body. (Eph. 1:22-23) We are not Baptist or Methodist or any other denomination, we are simply “Christians” just as the early disciples of Christ were first called in Antioch. (Acts 11:26)

Our Beginning

The church of Christ was established by Jesus Christ and His apostles in 33AD on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2.  There were 3,000 souls that gladly received the gospel message that Jesus was both Lord and Christ and had risen from the dead.  They repented and were baptized in the name of Jesus (under His authority) for the forgiveness of their sins and were saved and the Lord added them to the church! (Acts 2:36-42)

Our Background as a Church

The High Point Church of Christ came together for the first time in April of 2021 in the midst of the pandemic while meeting on Zoom.  With God’s favor, the congregation was able to secure a spot at its present location at 1701 Westchester Dr., Suite 620 (the old Westchester Mall) in October of 2022.  Our worship services will always be Spirit-led and Bible-based with love.  Our services are devoted to God, the Father, and the Son. We observe the Lord’s Supper, the entire congregation praises God with songs sung acapella, we pray, have a message from the Word of God, and take up a collection for those who may be in need among our number or elsewhere every first day of the week.  We encourage you to visit with us in-person or virtually via Zoom!

About Our Evangelist & His Family

The Evangelist/Minister for the spiritual family at High Point church of Christ is brother John Foster.  John and his lovely wife, Joy, have had the privilege of working for the High Point congregation since its very beginning.  Brother and sister Foster have worked for the Lord serving several congregations in North Carolina and Tennessee for over 20 years.  Brother Foster responded to the gospel in 1987 while a student at Florida A&M University.  He has a passion for evangelism and outreach, particularly to young people!  Sister Foster has been his faithful helper since they were joined in marriage in May 2002 while serving at the University church of Christ in Charlotte, NC.  Brother Foster has done ministerial counseling and is a certified Life-Coach.  Sister Foster is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of NC.  Brother and sister Foster understand that love is the greatest of all the spiritual gifts one can possess, and that when we love we become imitators of our heavenly Father. (1 Corinthians 13; Matthew 5:44-48)
